Chips and Points

Are points important? Why are they used?

At the end of each season, a Tournament of Champions (TOC) is held where players can earn substantial cash prizes. To participate in this event, players must accumulate enough points during the season to qualify: typically, 1,500 Regular Points and 1,500 Bonus Points, as described in more detail below. (The number of qualifying points required for the TOC may differ slightly season to season based on the number of tournaments held during the season along with other factors.)

Poker Chips

(Used during weekly tournaments and the TOC)

During play, as hands are won and lost, players gain and lose chips, and those players that lose all their chips are eliminated from that day’s tournament. Ultimately, it is the final 16 players in each tournament that earn points (as detailed below under Points and Scoring).

B-Town Poker uses the following chips and denominations (values) at all tournaments as the basis for the blinds, betting and raising.
